Bad movies, Martinis and Good times. Decent work week followed by a fun weekend. Interviewed for a QA position at work, but not entirely sure if I want the job or not. I guess it will first depend on... if they offer me the job :). Secondly on the pay, and thirdly on if I want to give up my current job. Now that I got things rolling at work commissions are going to start rolling in, so I'm not sure if I want to give that up for a lower stress job or not. *shrug* Weekend was actually pretty relaxing and fun. This was the first weekend of the entire summer that I did not know in advance what I was going to be doing. Friday night consisted of me staying home, which was exactly what I needed. A night to chill out, cook myself dinner and watch bad movies. By bad movies.. I mean the horror that is known as... The Punisher. Mind you, the punisher is one of my favorite super "heroes", but they just can't seem to make a decent movie around him. Saturday I went and visited some friends from Madison that I haven't seen in ages. Played some cards and shot the shit for awhile, caught up on old times. Later that night I headed up to Neenah to get some drinks with friends, ended up at the martini bar first. I never seem to be able to remember that a couple of martinis is stronger that it sounds like at first :). Headed down to the Pub to finish the night off. Sunday go out for lunch with Barren which was great. Went to Brooklyns which I haven't been to in years. Great food and nice atmosphere, I defiantly recommend it. Got to catch up on a few more episodes of Firefly (man I wish I knew about that show when it was out). Afterwards went to go visit my friends Chad and Kim, who unfortunately I have only gotten to see a handful of times since I was in their wedding last summer. Things are going great for the newly weds and I couldn't be happier for them. They really are some of the nicest people you could meet and have as friends. The bad movies doesn't end there... I subjected myself to watching Torque Sunday night... Ugh... hehe. I'm gonna go shoot some virtual people's heads off now, later.

Explosions and other such nonsense. It's been a fun filled couple of weeks since I last posted. Let's see what of it I can actually remember.. :) Went to the Oshkosh fireworks this year. Was actually a pretty good show, better than I have seen there in the past. After the fireworks we walked down Hazel street and watched a band who was performing on top of the roof of their house. They were actually pretty decent, and had everything up there from the drum set, lights, etc.. One of the guitarist was dressed up like Uncle Sam. Went and saw Fantastic Four this weekend... hmm... I gotta say I wasn't impressed much. I mean, Jessica Alba in her bra and undies is great and all, but the weak story line doesn't take it far. It was ok, just didn't nearly live up to the hype. Newlarp was also this past weekend. Word of advice kids, hot & humid weather + heavy fur type costume + sword fighting 6 people at once = lots o sweat. I've been very loyal to drinking at least 60 oz of water a day, I could imagine how crappy I would have felt afterwards if I was dehydrated like I used to always be. A little boozing this weekend, at The Bar in Appleton and Kelly's in Oshkosh. Appleton recently passed the "we're lame and gave in to the nimrods who don't even go out to the bars" law. No smoking in the bars. I was simply amazed that such a dumb law could not only be taken seriously, but passed and enforced. Now let me say, I do not smoke. But when you go to a place like a bar, to me that is just part of the atmosphere, the environment or however you want to put it. Was it nice that when I got home my cloths didn't stink like a carton of cigs were lit up and then smothered by my cloths? Yeah of course. But, the crowd... was different. The place actually wasn't dead and the crowd later at night picked up, but it was different. I just wonder if the law is actually going to stick or not, with how much business the bars are losing. I talked to one bar owner during lunch last week and he said his business profited $30,000 on cigarette sales last year. We'll have to give it some time and see how it unfolds. As for Kelly's on Saturday night, ugh... When you lose count of your drinks that's not always the best thing. Spent too much money between the two nights combined and prayed to the porcelain god Saturday night. Wanted to get stuff accomplished today, but that wasn't happening with how slow of a start I got getting over the hang over. Other than that, nothing exciting, working my job that I'm still unsure if I like or not. Thinking of looking for a part-time job for a little extra spending cash, but haven't decided on that yet. Think I'm gonna go watch some Oz, later. |
